EOC: Week 3: My Committment

My business is going to be a small business in the Los Angeles, California area. It will employ up to three other people as well as myself as photographer. The plan is to hire a hair and make up artist, wardrobe assistant, and a business manager, someone to handle the billing information and sending out invoices. As a portrait photographer who does very little, if any, studio work, I will be needing transportation to locations and scouting time. Scouting time will include securing any permits needed for use of certain areas, the weather forecast for the projected shooting day, and a consultation with the potential client to establish any extra wardrobe that may be needed.

EOC: Week 2: La Dulce Vita

My feelings on "La Dulce Vita" are varied. I enjoyed the bits I understood but from only seeing parts of it and not really understanding the story line, it is difficult to form a more educated opinion of the film. I would love to see the movie in its entirety so that I could form a better opinion of how I truly feel. It was fascinating to find out that the director did a sort of follow up film with the stars of his movie to find out what their feelings were about the filming process and how the film had affected their careers.

“I just saw a new print of this wonderful film after not having seen it for maybe 20 years and it is still spellbinding.” - Robert Hirschfield http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053779/reviews

If this can be said about a film 20 plus years later, perhaps it is worth looking into again now. Points may be made about the fact that the pacing is slow in some places but it has been said of the film that it imitates life. The pace of life is slow at some points and fast and confusing at others. Reviews of the film are as varied as the people who post them.

EOC: About Me

My name is Angel Donohew. I am a professional photographer with an unconventional style. Posed photography is not my thing. I decided to be a photographer when my younger brother gave me my first camera at around thirteen years old. I fell in love with the feeling of capturing the moments in my life as they happened. Making original shots with natural lighting is my goal. My system is to meet with you before our shoot to get to know you a little better. What are your interests and favorite things to do? I’d love to incorporate your ideas into my shots. Ultimately, your happiness and comfort are my goal. I like to make some shots in black and white for a more dynamic feel. As with all things in my life, my experience is continually growing and expanding. I like to try all sorts of fun angles and levels with my pictures. Capturing my subject in a way that suits them as well as the style of the picture is always an adventure. In the future I’d like to be able to take family portraits as well as pet photography, head shots for models and actors that capture who they are and not just what they look like. I prefer shooting things right the first time to limit my post processing.

Wk 1 EOC: Stallions not Unicorns

I'd love to be a traveling portrait photographer. I'd have one to three assistants, one to help with hair and make up, one to handle extra lighting, and one to handle the business end of things, the front desk so to speak.
